CEBU CITY – Shabu weighing 4.5 kilos and worth nearly PHP24 million were seized during separate anti-drug operations in Metro Cebu, a police official said on Monday.

A jobless man identified as alias “Mitong,” 48 and a resident of Barangay Calamba here was arrested Sunday at his house after yielding 1.5 kilos of shabu worth PHP10.3 million.

Flores is allegedly the “bodegero” (warehouse caretaker) of a drug syndicate which can sell at least three kilos per week.

Also on Sunday, a couple yielded PHP13.6 million worth of shabu in two anti-drug stings in Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu cities.

Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas, along with other law enforcement units, first arrested 28-year-old Fatima, a resident of Barangay Mambaling here.

Veraces yielded a total of PHP10.2 million worth of the illegal substance, weighing 2.5 kilos, at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue.

After Veraces’ arrest, the police apprehended her live-in partner, William, 32, in Sitio Soong 2, Barangay Mactan in Lapu-Lapu.

Seized from Lopez was a half kilo of suspected shabu worth PHP3.4 million and a multicab. (PNA)
