LEGAZPI CITY – Some 2,115 land titles will be distributed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary Conrado M. Estrella III to 1,965 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) during their visit to Bicol on Friday, a DAR official in the region said on Tuesday.

In a media release, DAR-Bicol Regional Director Reuben Theodore C. Sindac said the land titles will be handed out to ARBs from Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur, covering some 3,328.0973 hectares of agricultural land.

Sindac said the distribution at Fuerte Sports Complex in Pili, Camarines Sur will highlight the current administration’s dedication to enhancing the agricultural sector and uplifting the Bicolano farmers.

He said the land titles include 810 certificates of land ownership awards (CLOAs) and 1,305 electronic land titles (e-titles) which were generated under the DAR’s Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) project.

Sindac said ARBs will also receive from the President farm machinery and equipment including a compact rice mill with a polisher, 35-horsepower harvester, corn sheller, feed mixer, hammer mill, motorized hauler, 4WD tractor, hand tractor, and palay thresher, worth a total of PHP4.48 million.

Nine completed and ongoing farm-to-market roads under the Agrarian Reform Fund, amounting to PHP218 million, will also be handed over to ARB organizations and local government units of the first, second, and fifth districts of Camarines Sur.

Sindac said DAR through Estrella has vowed to support the President’s call to expedite the distribution of land ownership to farmer-beneficiaries and help ARBs improve their living conditions. (PNA)
