MANILA – The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is offering registration to the public for its motorcycle academy in the two-day government caravan at Rizal Park in celebration of the 126th Independence Day.

The MMDA booth also facilitates inquiries regarding verification of traffic violations and payment of penalties.

MMDA acting chair Don Artes said the event allows the public to avail of basic services from various government agencies.

“Layunin ng programang ito na ilapit sa ating mamamayan ang mandato ng bawat ahensiya upang malaman nila kung saang ahensiya sila pupunta kapag nangangailangan ng serbisyo (This program aims to bring to the public the mandate of every agency so that they would learn which agencies to reach out to when they are in need),” Artes said.

The public may register for free for the Motorcycle Riding Academy -- a training center located in Pasig City that aims to educate motorists about safe motorcycle riding, proper driving skills, and traffic rules and regulations.

“Ang MMDA, bilang tagapangulo ng organizing committee ng Pampamahalaang Programa at Serbisyo, ay naglaan ng onsite redemption kung saan maaari kayong magberipika ng inyong lisensiya, makapagbayad ng multa at kumuha ng certificate of clearance (The MMDA, being the lead in the program’s organizing committee, has established an onsite redemption where motorists can verify their license, pay fines, and get their certificate of clearance),” he said.

The agency also showcases a mobile earthquake simulator, anti-smoking, and solid waste management campaigns.

A total of 39 government agencies and two non-government organizations are participating in the two-day Independence Day event at Rizal Park from Monday to Tuesday.

The event is an annual activity with various government agencies participating to promote and enable easier access to their primary services. (PNA)
