CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – The Laguna Provincial Police Office (LPPO) announced the apprehension of two suspected pedophiles, both included in Calabarzon’s “most wanted” list.

Col. Gauvin Mel Unos told reporters on Tuesday that the first suspect, identified only as “Lino,” was nabbed on Monday by officers armed with an arrest warrant and with the assistance of village officials at his house in Barangay Wawa, Siniloan town.

Meanwhile, another alleged sex offender, identified as “Joel,” was taken Tuesday morning from his hiding place in Barangay Jose Laurel in Santa Maria town.

Unos said the two suspects are wanted for statutory rape.

"As the head of the Laguna PPO, I extend my appreciation to the community for their collaboration with our police personnel in bringing to justice those who evade the law, ensuring justice for the victims," said Unos.

Both individuals were denied bail by the Regional Trial Court Branch 33 in Siniloan town. (PNA)
