SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique – The Schools Division of Antique gained exclusive membership to the community of learners with access to digital learning resources and other development opportunities after the conferment of the Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM) Bronze Award by the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

“One of the benefits of the award is for the district’s teaching and non-teaching staff exclusive membership to the community of learners who have access to digital learning resources and other development opportunities,” Department of Education (DepEd) Antique Superintendent Dr. Nicasio S. Frio said in an interview Thursday.

Access to digital learning resources could enrich and improve teaching strategies so they could effectively transmit their knowledge to their learners.

Frio said the division would also provide more capacity-building training to its teaching and non-teaching staff to benefit learners.

“To help the teaching and non-teaching staff, the DepEd-Antique will be providing them with more training to improve their performance management and for their learning and development so they would be qualified,” he said.

The DepEd Schools Division of Antique has about 7,000 teaching and non-teaching staff.

With the award, the division is already on a deregulated status, so new appointments and promotions will be faster.

Before, appointments had to be attested by the CSC, but with the deregulated status, the appointment made by the division is good as approved or will be subject to the CSC post-audit.

Frio said their School Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (SMOOE) Express Lane, where the schools are encouraged to have good records management and submit timely reports, led them to win the award.

The CSC has designed the PRIME-HRM Bronze Award to encourage creativity, innovativeness, integrity, and productivity in public service.
